Battambang FAQ!

Battambang isn’t the tourist centre like Siem Reap. It’s not the big city of Phnom Penh. It might not have the idyllic beaches of the islands in the south, but there’s something about Battambang which makes it one of the favourite places to visit in Cambodia.

There are many things to see and do in Battambang including the Bat Caves, Wat Banan Temple, Phnom Sampeau, Wat Ek Phnom and other ancient sites. The town is also very fascinating with many traditional buildings located right next to some stunning colonial architecture. There’s also the bamboo train, cycling trips, different types of farms and more.

Most people will arrive in Battambang after visiting Siem Reap. There are buses, shared taxis and private taxis which will take you there. Angkor TK can help to arrange transport to Battambang if you need it.

It depends on how much you want to see and do when you arrive. Most guests stay for a few days before moving on as this is generally enough to see most of what Battambang has to offer. If you enjoy relaxing and visiting a sleepy city, the you might want to stay for a few extra days.
