LS-04: LUANG PRABANG & Vientiane – 5 DAYS/ 4NIGHTS

 

Tour Itinerary

 

Day 1: Arrive - Luang Prabang (D)

Arrive in Luang Prabang, transfer to hotel for check-in.
Dinner at local restaurant and accommodation at the hotel.

 

Day 2: Luang Prabang (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel, watch Takbat, the monks’ rounds, early in the morning.
08.30Full day visit of the old City. Start with the visit of the local fresh market behind Post office. Proceed to Vat Mai with its five tiered roof and exquisite carved veranda, stroll through lanes with charming old houses and gardens, up to Vat Xieng Thong. Vat Xieng Thong is the most beautiful temple of Luang Prabang dating back from 16th century. The roofs of the Sim sweep low to the ground and glass colored panels adorn the walls of the chapels. Lunch at Pak Houay Mixay restaurant. Transfer to the local pier of Luang Prabang to embark on traditional boat. Cross the Mekong River and walk through Xiene Mene village up to Vat Longkhoun. This temple renovated recently is famous for its mural paintings. Walk along the Mekong to L’Elephant Restaurant for dinner. Accommodation at hotel.

Day 3: Luang Prabang – Palace Museum - Pak Ou – Luang Prabang (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel, 08.30 start to visit of the Royal Palace Museum (Tuesday closed) housing the most important treasures of Laos’ recent past. Walk to the local pier on the Mekong behind the museum and embark on a traditional boat upstream to visit the sacred Buddha caves. On the way stop at Thin Hong, a picturesque village and get a glimpse of rural daily life. Visit Tham Ting and Tham Phoum, the revered cave temples housing hundreds of Buddha statues. Lunch at Souan Pak Ou restaurant near the caves. Return to Luang Prabang by boat. Drop in the old city for a walk or shop at the Night Market. Dinner at Tamnak Lao Restaurant (opposite Villa Santi Hotel). Accommodation at hotel.

Day 4: Luang Prabang – Vientiane (B/L/D)

Breakfast at hotel free time at leisure then transfer to airport for flight to Vientiane. Upon arrival transfer and check-in at hotel. Lunch at hotel. Afternoon visit Vientiane, the capital of Laos: Visit the Lao Textile Museum, 3 traditional houses in a lush garden, explores a unique private collection of Lao artifacts and textiles. Visit Talat Sao to buy some Lao textiles and basketry as souvenirs. Proceed to That Luang Stupa, the most revered shrine in Laos and pass by Patouxay (Victory Monument). Take a walk along the Mekong at sunset. Dinner at a local restaurant with Lao style dance or upon request Terrace restaurant on the Mekong. Accommodation at hotel

Day 5: Vientiane - Next destination (B)
Breakfast at hotel, transfer to the airport for flight to next destination.
